I live in Manila, Philipines. With the W123 Mercedes Benzes and E30 and E28 BMW's I've had, the blower motor and wheel were changed to something from Toyotas and Nissan units. Higher motor RPM and more efficient blower designs. Check to see also if your cooling coil/evaporator and lines are aluminum. They seem to work better in HOT climes. Hope this helps.
