According to the German 'Oldtimer Markt' magazine
(www.oldtimer-markt.de) in the edition which covered
the E12 5 series (BMW 5er-Reihe 09/97 page 38) there
were 116 or so registered in Germany at the time
the article was written.
From memory some 1400 M535is were built of which
800+ or so are LHD. I figure most of these would
have been sold in Germany (say 600) and if low
hundreds are left now then extrapolating, one could
deduce that there are between 200 and 300 remaining
on the roads today.
