First check the power window cutout fuses under the dash (2 red buttons in 530i) If thats not it I'm not sure but I believe that the back switch is tied to the front, so if the front switch doesn't work then the back will not work either. Check if their is corrosion on the copper, if there is use light sandpaper to clean it up.
