I'm only 19, but a string of bizarre circumstances
have caused the following vehicles to cross my
path:
1. '77 Buick Century Special Coupe. my first love. drove it
for two weeks, then struck by a '77 olds at 55 mph. not my fault.
2. '73 International Scout II, chop-top. the toughest pile of junk
i've ever been in. learned to drive manual(4) on this on, sold it
in frustration and anger.
3. '55 Chevy Bel Air sedan. originally a 235 straight 6, 3-on the
tree. converted to 350cid w/t350 auto, racing shift, chrome rims and
dual exhaust. fast as lightning. brake failure, 4 car pileup.
4. '84 BMW 318i- recoiling from the loss of my beautiful chevy(frame
bent in three places, radiator punctured, body mangled, etc.) i
bought a well-kept little e30 5-speed from a wealthy couple who had
just had another child. it was a steal- all of two months before it met
a minivan coming over an Austin hill.
5. I'm optimistic about my new '79 528i. I plan to drive it until the
wheels fall off, or I finish college and get a real job.
i've also chanced to borrow for long periods an '82 Buick Regal, an '88
Beretta GT, and a '93 Mitsubishi Expo(just about the goofiest ride ever
to come out of Japan...)
