: This is not a defense of MM engines; I have no experience with them. However, I have read extensively about the "boundary layer" approach to improving flow.

: Maing grooves or dimples in the combustion chambers and ports to improve flow is an accepted practice. From what I have read, it is used primarily in racing engines, particularly in NASCAR. The description in the MM catalog that I have coincides with what I have read about the technique. Whether or not MM practices the technique properly, I can't say.

: I have purchased some small items from MM and found them to be helpful on those occasions.

Actually i have purchased some small stuff from them that were rather good, but the engine is another story. As for the grooves in the head, you should see how it is done..i think there is a guy who failed shop, and is now doing the grooves! As for whether such modifications are practical for a street car (you know wanting the car to last longer than a 1000 miles), I wonder..
