: More questions:
: a) won't this damage the tires
: b) what tire pressure should I use, doesn't too much risk an explosion?

: Thanks. Samir.

: : WARNING: Not an Expert opinion!

: : When I've seen this done well, it is indeed best to use a metal bat, and have the bat rolled between the tire and fender while moving forward at ~.25 mph.

: : I make no guarantees as to the final result on your paint integrity, however....

: : : Use a METAL bat. works fine.

Timely question. I just recently rolled the rear fenders on my '76 530i. It was rather simple. I jacked up the car so that I could fit a 2" diameter pipe between the tire and fender. I placed a piece of 1/4" plywood betwee the tire and the pipe to give me better leverage (and to help stop depressing the tire from the pressure of the pipe). I also used a piece of old chamois between the pipe and fender to protect the paint. I lowered the car off the jack with the pipe wedged between the fender and tire and had my wife drive the car slowly back and forth while I rolled the pipe pushing the lip upwards. I had to repeat this a number of times with different size pipes, 2" to 4" - I borrowed the 4" from a friend who has a body shop - the 3" I picked up at a local junk yard. Don't worry about damaging the tire. The fender will give before your tire. Hope this helps, Ron.
