Well Ted, you realy don't need to do too much to your car
before you start it up again, (7 months isn't too long). The gas
in your tank will still burn, but it well be fairly rough. Since you
did the top end, you will need to tune it, so it is a good idea to
use new fuel.
I would also change your spark plugs, oil, filters, coolant, and
the points and condenser if you have them. That should be
enough to get you going with no problems.


As for the brake calipers, make sure that it is really leaking, there
will be brake fluid leaking onto the ground or at least onto your wheel.
If there is no visible wet spots in that area, than it is something else,
(probably the master cylinder or booster like mine).

If you do have to rebuild the caliper, it is very easy. But don't separate
the halves! Just take them off, clean them well, and remove all seals
and pistons. Make sure the bores and pistons and clean. I used fine
emery paper on the outer side of the bore (no farther in than the seal
cavity) to remove any corrosion. clean again and reassemble!
