Jack the front of the car up so one or both front wheels are off the ground. Spin the wheel, listening for the grinding sound. If the wheel spins freely, but there is a slight grinding sound everything is probably OK. If it requires quite a bit of effort to spin the wheel, the wheels bearings are probably about to wear out. In a short time, they will really begin to make some noise, and even effect the steering.
If there is just a slight grinding sound, it is probably the pads mating to the surface of the rotors, and is no big deal.
: I recently had new brakes put on the car. I am experiencing a dull grinding sensation with each revolution of the wheel. The faster the speed, the faster the grinding. As I slow down, the grinding slows but sounds louder. The shop has no idea. They think it could be the new brake pads. I know something is wrong. Does anyone hnow? Thanks, Mark
