I have a BBS spoiler on my '79. I bought it from a guy about 6 years ago. He had bought it with the intention of mounting on his car, but never got around to it. This spoiler is for a car with European bumpers, my car has US bumpers. The spoiler took very little modification to make it fit. I simply had to cut a 2 inch by 4 inch rectangle out of the area where the US bumpers covered the body that the Euro bumpers do not. I then had to paint the spoiler to match. This may help your decision if the only spoiler you can find is for a Euro.
By the way, my spoiler does make the front end of the car very low. Add to that effect, the Suspension Techniques springs and the spoiler tip is about 4.5 inches off the ground. And yes, it has been scraped several times with no breaking. Note the springs lowered the car about 1.5-2 inches.
