Since everyone else is doing this, here's my list too.....
1. 1970 Opel Kadett Station Wagon --Had it in college and only payed $100 for it I drove it for 3 years till it caught fire one day. (Hadn't learned to be a good mechanice yet?)
2. 1986 Honda Civic SI --Purchased new in 86' was my main drive for the next 7 years. My last NEW car?
3. 1960 Bugeye sprite -- This is what I broke my teeth into and learned decent mechanic skills! They're such simple cars everything is easy to work on. Sold it after doing a full restoration and moved to Washginton state from Indiana.
4. 1959 Bugeye sprite --just had to replace it after I moved! To bad it burned in a building fire in 95'.
5. 1965 MG midget --did a total restoration, and many mods ---I still enjoy driving it.
6. 1954 Austin Healey 100 --my introduction to the big Healeys --still under resoration after I dismanteled it in 93'. Will be a show car when it's done. I have a now a flawless bodyshell --too bad I lost the rest of it in that same building fire in 95'.
7. 1968 2002 --My introduction to BMW's --purchased for $600 and 1yr to restore but it is still a nice drive.
8. 1968 Lotus 7 --purchased in 93 --it needed minor repairs and is still the most raw sports car I've ever owned. It's a blast to drive. Did a 1000 mi rally in it 96' and won 4th place!
9. 1968 MGC GT --again purchased a non running restoration project --this one took me some 3years to restore. Still need an overdrive tranny put in.
10. 1981 BMW 528i --purchased it from my body man who did the 54' Healey --a sweet ride that got me addicted to the E12.
11. 1981 M535i --Unfortunately it burned in the building fire too in 95'. Some of it was salvageable.
12. 1956 Austin Healey 100 --replaced my 54' with the insurance money I recieved now I have two of them --one moves one doesn't. It too was a basket case spent nearly a year before it ran!
13. 1950 MG TD --purchased it when I got the 56 Healey. It was a package deal --sold it to buy my house.
14. 1977 AMCJeep CJ7 --- purchased for a snow plow rig when I bought my first house --needed lots of work but it still does it's job.
15. 1979 BMW 528i Euro -- saved this one from some college kids --it's now my main transport. Used some of the parts from my original M535i to make this car much more fun!
16. 1968 MGC GT --just had to buy another one only this one totally restored-- sold it this spring to a gentleman in Norway (he loves the car) Just couldn't justify having two of them.
17. 1960 Austin Mini --traded a 73' Porshe 911 Targa for it (Yes I did buy the targa but only to trade for the Mini so it doesn't count on my list of cars!) It's in great shape.
18. 1984 Audi Ur-Quattro --for those of you who don't know, the original 4 wheel drive car that caught the off road rally world by storm! Mine's one of about 500 imported from 82'-85' with only 65 in 1984. Purchased from a Doctor in 97' in immaculate condition only 93k mi.
19. 1972 BMW 2002 Korman Stage II --was a local car driven here from Colorado --has major rust I'm still looking for that nice Inka orange body shell to do it right!
20. 1977 530i --purchased for $700 all it needed was a auto tranny --eventually sold it to a friend after I fixed it.
21. 1979 Alpina B7 Turbo E12 chassis --my current restoration ongoing --Maybe have it done in a year?
22. 1981 M535i --It's still in PA awaiting DOT/EPA papers might be released by January?
Unfortunately/fortunately? I still have most of these cars. I've only parted with some of them. SO I still have 13 cars!
Cheers,
Frank
My insurance comany loves me!
