I used standard fuel line cut to length with hose clamps when I replaced all of mine to the injectors. It's practically impossible to do it without removing the intake runners, and as long as you do that, you might as well remove the log manifold. When you remove those chances are the gaskets betwee...

An update on this, thanks to Kevin and the beautiful tool he had made and then sold to me at his cost (I hope!) I got the 2nd bushing in this weekend in less than 10 minutes. What a great tool! Car is driveable and on its wheels, for the first time since Fall 2011. Family and life priorities have ce...

Thanks guys. I have the old one out which wasn't hard since the old Grunts bushings crumbled into broken bits which necessitated this swap. (pieces of crap :? ). On the new Motorsports bushings, the metal sleeve in the center, isn't that molded to the rubber? I didn't think it could be removed like ...

Radius rod bushing, official BMW tool/press?
I did a search and saw KenB's post about replacing his. (Here: http://www.firstfives.org/bboard/viewtopic.php?t=2617&) I think if the subframe was out of the car I could do that but the threaded rod and homemade press method just burned me in the tight confines of a mounted subframe. I got one s...

Alright, my parts genius at the dealer figured it out. For whatever reason, there are two diagrams in this section of the e12 power steering parts areas, and this is the one with the right part #'s and the right labels. So you can see that #5 and #8 have different part #'s. http://www.realoem.com/bm...

Crush washers for power steering pressure hoses
Arggh, having an issue here. I ordered #5 in this drawing (part # ending in 131) but the diameter of the washers that came is way too small to fit over the hollow bolts that go into the power steering box. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=4701&mospid=47162&btnr=32_0080&hg=32...

Headlight Cleaning System wiring
Last year I bought the complete headlight cleaning system that a mye28 regular scored on a junkyard e12 M535i in CA (cry, a real one!). I have both motors, the harness, grilles, dual fluid pump, relay, fluid squirters, etc. I've tested both motors by giving them some 12 volt juice and they spin and ...
