Re: Help?-Wiring Foglights

Thanks Robert. Yes i did finally get it all hooked up. The trouble was locating the pre-bundled wiring. I couldnt see them without pulling the gauge cluster out. And BAM rigth there! Pretty straightforward after that. I used a 10 amp blue fuse in the fusebox, i kept blowing the 8amp white ones? Now ...

Help?-Wiring Foglights

Hello folks! My query is im looking to add foglights to my 1978 530i. Ive done some research and see from the manual there seems to be some "pre-wiring" done to accommodate them. I know i need to add a relay, there is a place in the fuse box for it. I have a few odd relays that fit i cant tell which...

Re: 1976 BMW 530i "Eleanor" rebuild project

Im definetly a neophyte when it comes to all things auto modifications. Im a steady pro at thing general maintenance. Im slowly getting more into it. I know this oil catch isnt anything major, but i have been trying to picture the implementation of the thing?!. i am getting a fair amount of oil "blo...

Re: Euro Bumper mounting help

Hello Adam, Did you have to do any cutting? I dont see any fresh saw marks anywhere? Are those the standard OEM brackets, or a nifty aftermarket doo-hickey? I will be attempting to go Euro "hopefully" in the not-so-distant future.

Re: 1978 530i A/C Oil charge

So, i read everything from adding refrigerant at the drier, which really seems problematic. I seen guys just suck it up right from the can to the low side? I didnt think ,however + about the system being loaded with refrigerant, and pulling the veritable plug, good call on that. It just stated that t...

Re: 1978 530i A/C Oil charge

thanks. In the manual and on my compressor the hole is located on the bottom of my compressor. there is hex piece that comes out the back. Is that the correct place to inject the oil? ( and then watch to see the oil come from that hole?) I have mostly got the recharge done, so the system is closed. ...

1978 530i A/C Oil charge

Not sure how to refill compressor with oil. it says in the manual to remove oil inspection bolt and add oil in crankcase till overflows out of said oil inspection orifice. However it does not point which place to introduce the oil? there are two valves corresponding to the two hoses into the compres...

Antenna adapter

Finally getting around to installing my Continental radio in my 78 530i. Got it all in, EXCEPT, my radio antenna plug is too large to plug into my new head unit. I have looked up antenna adapters but none specifically list the e12 models as acceptable. Has anyone run into this issue? How did you ove...

Re: Pertronix Ignition

Ive been running a new Pertronix ignition for a month or two now. I did not get a big difference in performance, im still getting to know the car. but not having to wonder/worry about if the ignition (points and condenser are worn) is worth it. It feels a bit easier running. the idle seems a bit ste...

Re: Other options to replace E12 Diff...

I was following this lead also a while ago. I swear i saw a listing on ebay for something that was switchable in the sideloader diff. It mysteriously disappearead, hence i could never prove the theory. I was also shamed out of the idea from a few friends, but i know i saw a siddeloader lsd that woul...
