Correct. I did drop/replace the transmission. Once pulled the seal fell out with the torque converter.

Re: 1986 b34 swap with e12 intake and motronic 1.0

Hello Lock, kind of. Not going the whole e28 rear diff/subfame route but rather a hall-effect setup on the e12 rear half shaft and then just do the four wire hookup to the e28 speedo in the cluster.
Used this video for reference:

Re: 1986 b34 swap with e12 intake and motronic 1.0

Per Lock's thread I used the wiring harness out of an 88 528e and spliced it into the c101 on the 81 528i. Pulled switched 12v from the square molex plug under the dash to c103 and the tach signal wire from the coil. I also used the later motronic fuel rail with the Bosch III injectors. Drilled out ...

Re: Brake fluid in the brake booster?

just rebuilt the master cylinder on the 528i and I found the same thing. It struck me as odd that every 6 months or so fluid was missing from the reservoir. Re: Help with Wheel Bearings

I normally grab the cardboard can that says "wheel bearing grease" and go from there, but this "extreme pressure" grease should be better than the auto store brand wheel bearing grease. If you are re-packing, as usual I would clean out all of the old grease with brake cleaner, ch...

Re: Motronic 1.3 conversion for M30B28

Joe, I am doing the same "upgrade" to my 528i. Well , more of an in between step while the B35 gets built. Hopefully it will be running on Motronic 1.3 by the end of June. Adding all of the Motronic 1.3 parts should get it running until the ecu adapts and levels out to what the O2 sensor i...

Re: Other options to replace E12 Diff...

I currently have an idea hat I am trying to prove. e12 Sideloaders are 188 mm diffs. E models 23-28-30-32-34 used 188 mm limited slip carriers. Most common LS upgrade is to swap out the open center section for an LS unit. I have read and seen pics of one instance where an e21 diff had its open cente...
