I had the same problem with my Bronze tint E28 windshield. NLA from the factory. There is a company in Germany that reproduces them, but that really wasn't an option for me. http://www.classic-autoglas.com/

I changed mine back in the winter and had to drop the sub frame slightly. It's not a big deal, just be sure not to screw it out too far... :D
About 1 cm or a third of an inch should be enough. But it's still hell to get those damn bolts back in with the new bushings. :x

Sorry for the delay. The guy in our tool dept that was going to make it for me has been out with the flu. :(
I'm hoping that he will be able to finish it this week, but I'm still not sure. :roll:

I'm currently redoing the front suspension on my 75 525. Since I haven't gotten it back together yet, I went down to the garage and measured the diameter of my strut tubes. The ones on my car are 58mm across or 2.28 inches.
The ETK shows that from 72 to 4/76 there was one model for Bilstein, and ...

Hi Adam, I'm hoping to do the exact same swap next weekend. I'm getting our tool shop at work to make up these two presses/pulls for me:
