Re: Front Control Arms - Load Suspension?

If you watch M539 Restorations, Streten often torques up the suspension bushes with a preload, and he does this by first measuring the wheel height - relative to the wheel arch with car on the ground, then once car is in the air, Jacks up the wheel to that measurement, then torques the bolts/nuts. Re: Headlight R + R

I sent an email to Hella Australia about the low beam H1 lamps (1054). They emailed back ( like the next day!) saying they don't supply or make them anymore! nor do they have any direct replacement for this now defunct lamp. Hella 1053 H1 high beam is readily available. So I wonder about the US solu...

Re: Brake fluid in the brake booster?

Wow. <snip> Does that happen a lot on RHD factory conversions or just once in a while? Looks like they made it work, but... I think all the BMW's we got prior to the E30 and E28 had twin brake boosters - certainly E3/E9/E12 do . There are some people looking at changing them to single boost...

I took my assembly to Napa auto parts who supplied me with the Hella 1053 for the high beam Yep as sorta expected - Hella 1054 (low beam) no longer supplied. They said they can supply a similar unit by NARVA - so thy have ordered one in for me to test - nice of them - a set of 2 costs $200. In the m...

Re: Brake fluid in the brake booster?

Further to my post of dismantling the brake booster - in my case we have 2 x boosters for RHD cars, that are remote to the brake pedal. Anyway a friend showed me how to dismantle the booster further. At the end of the push rod, is a rubber band - remove the rubber band with a dull pick, put aside - ...

Re: Need help on how to remove 1975 front seats

On my 76 525 the drivers and passengers side have different fixing positions and arrangement For the drivers side, the seat has a vertical height adjustment, and there are 4 bolts that bolt the seat adjusting frame to the chassi. To get to these bolts you probably have to raise the seat so you can g...

I replaced the globes, installed new plug and wiring for the trailer connector and terminated an extra earth and brake wire off the rear left hand light cluster loom.

I now have brake lights - go figure!

Re: stuck brake calipers - tools

there is also a series of youtube videos , whereby the pistons are rotated and removed via use of a socket .
