Re: clutch issue w/e12 based 79 633csi
thanks Mike....brake fluid was low, I topped it off and now she won't start, I can get it to start and run just a few seconds then it just cuts off....sounds like it's trying, but no go. Car has been running fine until this issue yesterday, I think it has something to do with me trying to turn it ov...

clutch issue w/e12 based 79 633csi
Hey guys....had to move my '79 6er out of the garage in a hurry yesterday so the garage opener could be repaired....I had just driven the car a couple of days ago and it was fine, however, I jumped in to move it and the clutch pedal went straight to the floor, no resistance at all, won't come up by ...

e12 6 series question for the experts
Hey guys, I'm going to do "something" to the original power train on my 1979 633csi and I'd really like an opinion from someone who might know more than I do about swaps. I thought I wanted to swap in an m30b35 engine with a chip and a 5 speed od manual, car now has the original 4 speed ma...

Manual transmission problem
OK, somebody should feel vindicated here....after the new Sachs clutch kit's installed, now the clutch master cylinder has gone bad...new one's on the way. Any good ideas about saving the carpet and more importantly, paint in the driver side footwell??

tranny shift problem issue
Greg....no. I'm not sure if it's a master cylinder problem....that never even came up. My clutch was replaced maybe 30 yrs ago and I haven't looked at the clutch or transmission in many years....probly wouldn't know what I was lookin at anyhow....I had the car towed to a bmw specialty shop Monday an...

Thanks Mike and Randy for your input
Clutch feels like normal and I think Mike hit on the source of the problem. I did hear a funny little racket coming from the shifter area as I was driving, only lasted a minute or so, didn't stop and investigate afraid I'd get stuck alongside the road....that's really when the problem started to get...

Manual transmission problem
Hey guys, my '79 633 has developed a transmission problem....suddenly I can't shift it into any gear without really forcing it. The shifting on this car has always been like a hot knife thru butter, really smooth. I drove it yesterday and had trouble getting it into reverse without scraping gears......

turn signal relay
Does anyone have a spare 4 prong turn signal relay they'd like to sell? Fits up under the dash on my '79 sixer.

crack in my '79 six'ers dash
Hey guys, I've always been particular about keeping my '79 633 out of the sun/heat, if at all possible....and I keep it garaged. Just noticed a crack in the center of my dash that I'd like to take care of if there's a way. Two months ago I had the car at a body shop to have the front air dam repaint...

could I get some HP ideas
Mike, I think you're right....it may not be realistic to limit the spend to $4-4500....now I'm thinkin maybe a M30B35 swap with possible upgrades, that would top out at maybe $5-6000....A 5-speed tranny swap will help too. Thanks for the input.

turn signal relay for my '79 e12 based 6er
I forgot this on my last post....does anyone have a spare 4 prong turn signal relay you would sell? This relay is under the dash on the drivers side, on my car anyhow....has to have 4 prongs, not 3.
Thanks.

could I get some HP ideas from this group?
Hey guys, I'm going to do something soon to my '79 633 and I'm short on ideas. I know I want to switch the tranny from the original 4 speed to a 5 speed overdrive and I also want to get another 50-60 HP out of my original engine. I need to stay within $4000-4500.00 with someone else doing all the wo...
