megasquirt and m30b35 vr setup

I've sucessfully gotten my m106 to run using the 60-2 setup from an m30b35, but I'm having high rpm breakup. I've installed an 10k resistor in line, and played with the pots r52 and r56. I've got the vr pickup set at .020" clearance. Previously, I had it set at .030", but couldn't get it t...

Re: Need some electrical help...turn signal flasher indicator.

I know when I put led lights in they would not flash. I had to have a regular bulb on each side to get it to flash. Must be a pull up thing.

Re: sideloader lsd diff rebuild?

Thanks Jeff, I bought the seals and 3 clutch plate sets, using porsche dogear plates. I'm going to go with factory spec(0.2mm) on clearance with the extra plates installed. I'm considering more ramp angle on acceleration ramp(maybe go 30*) for more drive locking.

sideloader lsd diff rebuild?

I need to rebuild my sideloader lsd diff. I'd like to get more lock up. Anyone have experience with this? I'm thinking I can shim it for more initial break away torque, but I'm unsure how much to shim it. any help appreciated!

I do use a line wrench and still managed to mess up 1 of the steel line nuts, so I start looking at the wrench and realize there is a chamfer on the inside that misses the lower half on the nut. I ground the wrench to eliminate the chamfer and get full contact on the nut. The rest of the lines came ...

Well it turned out to be the rubber brake hose. I've heard of this before, but kinda thought it was urban legend. The hose shows no sign of problem on the outside but even 120 psi won't pass thru. So this time I'll get s.s. braided lines. What a pita job! I remember when I first resurrected this car...

Update and correction I was wrong about cracking the bleeder because these 4 pots have 2 cicuits and 3 bleeders, so now I have learned the lower pucks are on a different circuit and when I crack the lower bleeder it 's instantly free to move. I decided to pressure bleed again starting on passenger f...

brake caliper problem

My 79 euro 645 has 4 pot ate calipers on the front, with a vacumn booster.I had a problem with the driver front caliper sticking and dragging , getting hot, so I replaced them with rebuilt calipers. Now I've got the same problem. Even a short drive is enough to cause the wheel to drag causing a shim...

hallelujah! It was the coil high tension wire shorting out to the chassis. I was really getting depressed. I just don't want to have to pull the motor again. I still don't understand why #3 was the one that kept fouling, or how it ran at all as the wire was really toasted, right where I couldn't see...

bad valve stem seal

I've got a bad #3 plug that keeps fouling on my 84 m106. I think it may be the valve stem seals. Does anyone know if it's possible to move rockers and change seals with the head on in the car?

try switching your spark plug wires 180 degrees at the distributor. I know you think it's timed right, but I've seen this happen before.

thanks Peter,
did you notice additional oversteer from increasing lockup?
I've been on a porsche forum that made mention of that.

how to improve sideloader lsd lockup

Hi,
I have an early 6 series euro w a sideloader lsd.
does anyone know if it can be rebuilt and improve lockup by adding extra metal &/ or friction plates?
seems like 1 or 2 extra metal plates would help, but I'd love to hear from someone who's done it before.
thanks
