Valve Removal
I need some guidance on where/what kind of valve compressor to get. So far I bot 2 and neither fit. I know (now) I need a "C" clamp set up, but is there one that works best for our heads?

I'm a bit late on this but....the broken arm happened to me, with no other damage. When i took the head apart I notices a notching in the rocker where it met the cam loob. So then i looked at all of them and most had the same notching on both the rocker and in some place on the cam. I had to replace...

Engine rebuild questions
Anyone know where I can find the torque settings for a b35?
And should I use a sealant between the head gasket and block as well as between the head and the valve cover? If so, what kind (names of brands) and any tips would be very helpful. Thanks guys.

M60b30/40 in an e12
this may sound like a stupid question, but I have to ask. If a m30 fits in a e34, did they change the mounting position for the m60. If not, would the m60 fit in the e12?

I was under the same impression until I started discusing that with a friend at Autobahn Distmantlers in SD. I know they started using that engine becuse the over all weight of the cars of that generation were; well as we saw, heavy enough for a v8. But what was pointed to me (and I don't if this is...

Concerning the cam, I've been told by a couple of guys I trust here in the San Diego area that the cam that (at least the one in the 735i like mine) for the American b35 were purposed for low rev to get the heavy luxury mobile a little pep out of the drive way. Conversely, at the higher end of the b...

M30 B35 rebuild/freshening up
I have a B35 that I am about to tackle. It is my first engine rebuild. I inspected the the larger bits and all looks well enough in terms of the honing of the cylinders, the pistons look pretty good but will get cleaned up and the head is level to the deck. I am going to replace the old 735i cam wit...

Early Alpina Front Spoiler
Anyone know where i may be able to find some detailed photo's and or dimensions of the early version? There are some good photos on the e12.de site but dimensions, or even a rendering would be helpful. Of course an actual unit would be best. [/img]

Got the Clutch plate off. But now have trouble with the fly wheel bolts. They don't want come off. I hosed them off with penetrating fluid on the front and as well as I could on the back, but no luck as of yet. We will see tomorrow morning if a night time soak helps. Any other suggestions, heat the ...

I took out my engine last night. Unbolting the bell housing, jack up the engine a few inches in the front and the trans slide onto a stack of boards and padding all by itself. definitely the way to go! I was only going to get it set up and call a friend to extract the block, but once the trans free ...
