Glad to see the board is still around, is Peter F still here? I haven't posted for years.
So, I have a new-to-me '80 that badly needs carpet, what are people doing for carpet now? Any good vendors or sources for either molded carpet sets or multipiece sets? TIA.

Grab the shift knob and see if it moves up and down. If so, the rear bracket has broken. The shift tower is supported at the front by two bolts through bushings. At the rear there is a rubber bushing and a bracket welded to the trans tunnel. I've had two of these brackets fail over the yeas due to r...

I'm having a similar problem. I installed an M30B34 non-cat euro engine running Motronic and the I can't get it to idle correctly. I've replaced everything (AFM, ECU, injectors, plugs wires, sensors), and I now believe my issue is the O2 sensor so I had to drop it at the local shop for diagnostics. ...

When I tried to order from Rockauto as soon as I put a caliper in the basket they took it out and said the part was no longer available. Amazon gives a 1-2 month delivery time. Looks like another e12 part is going to be hard to get. Cardone will at least rebuild a caliper if you sent it to them thro...

Autozone doesn't carry them any more, and an online search yielded nothing, anyone have a source for rebuilt front calipers short of the $350 new ones? TIA.

Throttle cable installtion using e12 parts
I've got my euro M30B34 up and running with the 5-speed conversion. I used a pedal box from a euro 518 and this allowed the use of an accelerator cable. If anyone is interested I can do a quick write-up with pictures.

IIRC the alternator and water pump are driven from the same belt, and the power steering pump is separate. It appears the color is off in your photo. <gr> ...tom -----Original Message----- From: JodyStevens <kd101ster@gmail.com> To: tech_forum <tech_forum@firstfives.org> Sent: Wed, Sep 17, 2014 8:17...

Hello and Help
Wyatt's father, welcome. The e12 is the BMW model designation. Any rear from another e12 would fit, and like Mopars there are several rear end ratios available. If you can remind me where you're located there might be someone nearby that can help. Tom -----Original Message----- From: Wyatt <kkrinne@...

thanks. I've run out of adjustment, so I may have to have the pivot piece shortened and retapped. Is the brake pedal height adjustable? My brake pedal sticks out about an inch past the clutch and it's further out than any that I can remember. TIA.
