Thanks Eric, As far as the blue shop manual, I don't think have one--it went with a 530i that I sold. There are a couple manuals on ebay (tall $$), and that might be the eventual solution. There is a FAQ on dismantling the dash, and if there isn't an easy way to get at the bulbs from the front, that...

I would like to replace the bulbs that illuminate the heater control dials in a 1980 M535i. Where can I find instructions for disassembling the control unit so I can get to those bulbs? Thanks.

So the garage queen m535i front brake calipers have some pistons that are sticking, and corroded enough that the local expertise says they aren't worth building (I am not so sure). I have hunted around on this forum and on RealOEM, and haven't found any simple alternatives aside from the $900 factor...
