The tailpipe is known to introduce a distinct hum or noise if the exhaust pipe stops short of the back of the bumper. For proper sound/exhaust exit, the tailpipe should extend 2-3 inches PAST the back of the bumper. Stopping under the car or bumper will create noise IN the car.
This is particularly ...

Absolutely needed IF....
Heavy stop and go traffic... (long commutes with long waits) will result in a slow, disconcerting rise in temperature during the stops.
The purpose of the shroud is to make the fan more effective by pulling air in over the total surface of the radiator. Granted they get warped and if so... they ...

The new Bosal exhaust in the classifieds...
RE: the NEW Bosal exhaust in the classifieds>>>>
I used a Bosal on one of my 77 cars, and it worked great and was still muffling well when the car quit five years after installation.
It's a bit throatier, but a very nice sound. It's not noticable in the car as long as you make sure the exhaust ...

Some troublemaker always needs proof... Are you a barrister?
Isn't that what they call lawyers in OZ. (That's a nickname for Australia, or do you need documentation on that).

seatswapping...
E28 seats swap directly into 80/81 e12's. In fact they swap into all e12's, but you may have to use the seat bases from the earlier e12's, which bolt on. I can't remember the year when the shape of the floor pan changed on the e12's, but the appropriate seat bases for the e12 make it work with the ...

That looks very good...
I like the tan... it brings down the harshness of that stock interior color and looks much richer...
Must also be nice to plant your Buttt on fabric on a cold morning, rather than vinyl or leather.

Sounds like a lot of work but it sounds great...
Would definitely like to see pics of the interior if the opportunity ever presents.

The engine was out when I sold it... 3.2 installed
I drove Mellow as my daily driver for quite a while. I bought it as the 3rd owner. The first problem I encountered was reverse gear went out in the 3HP. Then the head gasket blew (or the head cracked).

Now ain't that a crackup....
Because that's not the 77 I was talking about. I was talking about Schmurfenblau... my pastel blue 77 e12.
I wondered about that name.
So, if you sell Mellow.. .will you let me know about the opportunity.

Down pipes need to be extended up...
As I recall, talking with the fellow who I bought my 77 from, the reactors are two separate 3 into one using two downpipes, and he used the two separate stock manifolds from M30 engines that used the two down pipes. The Reactors being as big as they are, they drop down quite a bit more than the ...

Another vote for valve seals...perhaps valve guides.
Another way to check.... first startup of the day, have someone else start the car while you watch the pipe. Oil will have drooled down the guides overnight and be pooled on the valve heads, ready for that first start of the day.

Why did you replace the ignition box....
Common rule about replacing parts... if they work--- don't. Why did you put in a new box. Second rule... New doesn't mean good. A lot of these replacement parts have been sitting in parts bins for 30 years and have been moved and knocked about. Electronics are particularly sensitive to age and they ...
