I don't know if it's correct or not, but I swapped in a set from my (E28s) parts car to my driver once upon a time, with no ill effects. That was some 50 or 60,000 Lead-footed km ago.

If you get it send via old fashioned donkey-cart mail, the border fees are considerably cheaper, if they bother to charge you at all. Alternatively, see if somewhere like Pembina or Neche or one of those little just-over-the-border places has mailbox rentals or some other sort of drop. My father-in-...

I believe, though I could be mistaken, that it's the count box for the 02 sensor light. After X number of miles, the idiot light on the dash comes on telling you to replace the 02 sensor. At least, I believe that's what you're looking at.

While I can appreciate your thriftiness, my suggestion is to not re-use the line. Apart from the booged nut, rubber hoses have a tendency to degrade over time and ultimately fail. A failed rubber clutch line is what had me driving home in rush-hour traffic without a clutch. Sure as shit, if you chan...

The AFM sends a signal voltage to the ECU based on the position of the door. If the voltage is incorrect, the ECU won't adjust fuel to match throttle position (we only have idle and WOT throttle switches). This is a possible area of concern. Even if the AFM is giving the correct signal, the harness ...

Batteries do have a limited lifespan too - I don't think I've ever found an original battery in a 20 year old vehicle - even one that looks like it never left the showroom. Which is not to say you have a 20 year old batter, only that they do eventually "go to the farm".

I'm fairly certain it was flooded. I'd let it sit for a couple of hours and it still wouldn't fire up but the next morning it lit off instantly. It needs a general tuning one of these days anyway and I suspect it's state of tune combined with the weather and my finicky ignition key conspired to leav...

I went out to the car this morning, asked it kindly to please start, hit the key and it jumped to life immediately. Gremlins I suppose.

Cold no-start

Running behind this morning thanks to my car that won't start, so not a lot of trouble-shooting thus far. Engine cold, cranks fine, fuel pump running and fuel being pumped through the system but not yet sure if the injectors are firing. Gives a half-hearted almost-start when first cranked, but gives...

So Mike W.,
How about swapping E28 seats into and E12?
Yep, at least taking seats from an '87 or '88 E28 and dropping them into an '80 or '81 E12 is a straight, bolt-in affair. The only thing you have to do is take the E12 seatbelt and put it on the E28 seat.

I don't know of any that are flywheel tests, but if you Google-search FF for "dyno" there are a number of chassis dyno runs and it seems to me there is one of a bone-stock 528i. I might have a copy of it somewhere - I'll dig around and see.
