If you are correct and I understand that the steel sleeve (snout) is pressed in the aluminum plate and if it is no longer oil tight, it will leak. What would be the fix? We moved about 6 months ago the old transmission did not make the move along with a lot of other stuff. Of course I would swap out...

Getrag 265/6 Transmission

I purchased a used/less miles Getrag 265 transmission from Double 02. I replaced the seals and installed and it leaked all over. I removed the transmission and took to a independent BMW repair shop here in San Rafael. I supplied the seals. I realized my errors but I wanted it done correctly so as no...

I am running motronic 1.3 with the 179 ECU and the m30b35 head and pistons. My general understanding is BMW squeezed everything it could out of the big straight six with this setup but it all worked together. So the cam and the bigger valves go together. Your setup is different but I cannot explain ...

Thank you.

I have an extra transmission and converter. The amount of work to do a complete swap is more work than just separating the transmission from the engine and adding fluid to the converter.

I was/am hoping for someone to say " just pre-fill the the converter and you will be fine"

Replaced automatic transmission

I replaced the 4HP22 automatic transmission on my 735 with another from a p n p. It is not working. I mean absolutely nothing, no reverse no forward. In the process, the torque converter was drained of transmission fluid, and was installed dry. Co-worker said I should have pre-filled the torque conv...

I have been experiencing poor engine performance so much my mpg dipped below 20mpg for the first time. So I add techron and noticed an improvement. But the surprise is it is now holding fuel pressure for an hour and a half. That is a bigg increase from compared to not holding pressure for one minute...

The fuel gauge is an Auto meter that I purchased online but can't remember the site. About a month ago I replaced my fuel pump because it was starting to work intermittently . However, I did not replace it with a new pump, but one that I had around. I must have gotten it a pick n pull thinking it ma...

Fuel pressure hold

While at idle fuel pressure reads 42 psi http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/af346/Ketcham99/first%20five%20stuff/9ccd64f4.jpg [/img] After engine off for 60 seconds pressure drops to 21 psi and stops there. http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/af346/Ketcham99/first%20five%20stuff/d9b0f56f.jpg How lo...

I have been running my m30b35 since mid January and I run the 91 octane. I am also in northern California. Only once did I inadvertently put in 87 and I got pinging. But I am unable to go wide open throttle due to the fact I go from push rod to the bell crank and then convert to wire cable to thrott...

For this one nut a bought a inexpensive, $65.00, air impact driver from harbor freight. It advertised 450 pounds. It worked. I found it a lot easier than wrenching and eventually cutting off the nut the first time. A new nut runs around $8.00.

When I did this, the spring compressor was not to fully able to compress the struts. It made for a terrible experience. I got them at harbor freight, they were cheap but inafactive.

Do you have fuel pressure? I have a fuel pressure gauge on my fuel line. I know that doesn't help you.

Can you hear the pump or get someone to listen? Right rear wheel well.

Not good News

Replace broken rocker arm. Started up sounded great. Drove around block to warm up. Removed valve cover to torque 30 degrees, what do I see but a Cafe latte. Is there hope? When I removed the head coolant did spill into the cylinders and i did not re-drain oil pan. but now there's a knock sound. Cou...

Thank you Blaise, but have 12 rocker arms to find the best one. I have removed most of the stuff I should have the head off after work tomorrow. A couple of weeks ago I merged hard onto 101, I think I was stuck behind some slow pokes getting on, then I had a couple of lanes free. I felt a vibration....
