The center support bearings often need shims on the mounts to keep things level/plumb ...... you probably know that.......

Plan C. Cut a slot with a dremel tool/disc. Then work at it with a slot head screwdriver.

Are you getting good pump circulation ? Check the reservoir for a strong current. Also the coolant -ways in the block tend to get crusty.....

Check / lube the bushings #4 in picture on the engine side of the firewall. From there check and lube all of the linkage points to the engine. Inside where the arm connects to the pedal hole can get crusty too. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=3975&mospid=47164&btnr=35_0102&...
