Re: Floor Jack Pad Recommendation
I bought a set identical to these, so it appears. they do not fit as is. I decided to modify them on a band saw and will post pictures when I do so others can possibly benefit.

Re: Heater, A/C Controls total Rebuild
I just emailed Behr. I know... its a long shot, but I was able to give them the corresponding Behr part number for the complete assembly so this should improve my chances. Will report back soon.

Re: Heater, A/C Controls total Rebuild
How coincidental, Mike! I called the company earlier and was put on hold once I began to ask about the products properties. Had to hang up. Will try again tomorrow. Should it be a grease suitable for elec contacts? Any key questions to ask of them?

Re: Heater, A/C Controls total Rebuild
Hey Mike... Thanks for your reply. I understand that dielectric grease is not good for contacts. But I cant seem to find a clear grease out there that is conductive or specifically used for electrical contacts. Are my search criteria proper? All Lithiums seem to be white. Some synthetics are clear, ...

Heater, A/C Controls total Rebuild
Am totally rebuilding my 81 528i climate controls. And, am wicked happy with how easy this is and how well it has gone. (would not be attempting this if I didnt have a couple of these to practice on; removing the flat nuts from the plastic studs without breaking them requires enormous patience). I w...

Re: hazard light switch
However... I put a Euro switch in my US car. Works like a champ despite the physical differences re the extra pin. Just had to swap out the buttons.

Floor Jack Pad Recommendation
I've never used jack pads in the 38 years I've owned my 81 528i. Now, all of a sudden, I think I need a Jack Pad for my Floor Jack. Am assuming that the pad would have to fit in the same rocker panel location where all 4 factory Spare Tire Jack ports are located. That box which has a pinch weld to i...

Re: HELP: Water Valve Replacement
Actually... I have yet to tackle this. I'm not entirely certain that I even need to do anything. The leak seems to have stopped. I got sidetracked with why the car was overheating, while prepping my MB 280SL for a MB Concours regional event (took best of show on Saturday). I bought the stinking wate...

Re: Engine Overheating
What does the oil on the dipstick look like? If a "chocolate milk" like substance is evident you may have a head gasket or cyl head issue like Mike says. It's not that rare for even a a replaced cylinder head on these cars to crack and cause overheating. Just sayin'. Sorry for disappearin...

Re: Engine Overheating
Ok. Radiator was inspected and determined to have very good flow; so no "apparent" problem here. Two questions at the stage of the battle. FIRST QUESTION, is the one from my previous post. Does anyone know the part number for the 19mm drain plug at the block. Am still shocked to see half a...

Re: Engine Overheating
Quick Question: After draining the coolant through the rear plug, I realized that I need to change the old rusty block plug. But I cant find the darn plug in RealOEM. It takes a 19mm socket. Anybody know this part number?
