Sources for rear mufflers???
Well I took a look at my E12 in the garage for the winter and it looks like I will be needing a new rear muffler. Looking on the web there does not seem to be many options. It looks like the options are stock BMW or stainless (and stainless is way too expensive). I changed the center resonator a whi...

RE: Driveline vibration
Thanks for the hints. Actually the driveshaft looks almost like new although it has been in the car for 20 years. It is still nice and black with very little rust. I do remember a few weights welded onto the shaft so I will have to check to see if it looks like any of the weights are missing from th...

Driveline Vibration
In the past year or so my E12 has had a drive line vibration that is slowly getting worse. It mainly vibrates around 40mph road speed. At 50mph and above it goes away. I have since changed the guibo since it was cracked lightly (no change in vibration) and checked things like the center bearing (loo...

Re: Spark plugs and wires, opinions please
hi everone, which plugs do you guys find work best? and which plug wires also please thanks, joe This has been discussed many times in the past. The only plugs I would use (and have been using) are the Bosch Silver plugs that are specified (I can't remember what their part number is). I have also t...

widining spark plug gap??? Recommended or not?
I would not increase gap on a stock M30 engine. Over the years I had various problems with misfires even with OEM wires etc. New Bosch wires and Bosch Silber WR9DS plugs gaped at 0.028 have always solved any problem. It seems like the M30 engine, at least mine, is sensitive to plug gap and less than...

How about the combo relay or the AFM fuel pump switch. The fuel pumps may be shutting down for a split second causing the stumble. I have had two separate problems over the years with both the AFM flap fuel pump switch going bad and also the combo relay overheating. It started out the car would only...

Antifreeze types.
I am curious also. In my E12 I used the normal Zerex green stuff for 18 years without a problem. When our cars were build I do not think they had any real special antifreeze requirements. The last time I changed my E12 I used the Prestone all makes stuff since that is what I was using in my old Jeep...

A/C fluid sloshing around
I would think condensate. Probably the drain is clogged. It drains out over top of the transmission. I have used long tie wraps to unplug mine. Pain to get to.
