Re: difficult or PITA bolts etc - for amusement!
For anyone without the spin-on fan ... the fan. Need to access the front of the engine? Drain your rad and pull it out so you can take the fan off the flange. PITA, but any sane person will suffer this exactly once before upgrading. The hood is also a pretty major PITA to remount once off. Anyone as...

Re: Decreasing Fuel pressure/stall
I might start by jumping the fuel pump and seeing if that changes anything. There are two pins on the AFM connector that you can bridge to turn the pump always-on. If the symptom is resolved, then you can eliminate a restriction as the cause and focus on electrics. Besides the connections to the pum...

Re: Speedbleeders for one man brake bleeding
Karl - I didn't know about these, thanks for posting. I use the Schwaben pressure bleeder - this works great when used with a catch bottle with a clear hose attached to the caliper nipple. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-schwaben-parts/3-liter-european-pressure-brake-bleeder/007237sch01a/ The Schwaben s...

Re: Squeak in Rear Suspension
No, the diff mount is still original. It occurred to me that it might be on the table if I was unable to replace the subframe mounts without dropping the whole axle.

Re: Squeak in Rear Suspension
I replaced the shock mounts two weeks ago, which did not resolve the problem. That was vexing. Today I replaced the subframe mounts (hat tip Lock for spotting the issue) with Ireland Engineering urethane mounts. It really quieted things down and definitely improved the rear end. It was always a bit ...

No, that's a 16"; check for a recent thread in in the For Sale section on the 14" turbines.

C-pillar Vent Rehab
This is barely a Tech Forum topic after reading Keehn's latest post, but here are my humble offerings while my alternator is rebuilt. My C-pillar vents were looking a bit tired. https://i.ibb.co/WVG9VDz/C-pillar-Vent-Before.jpg I found some silver-chrome pinstripe on eBay, the lower band of which wa...

Re: Found online TIS that covers our M30's
The E12 version fell offline last year, or rather it was moved behind a paywall. The quality of the scan was pretty bad, not as crisp as the E23 version here, but good enough if you didn't have the Blue Book. fwiw, I ordered a CDROM from eBay for about $20 that is a high-rez version of the blue book...

Wait until he builds the drop forge to make new conrods from steel he smelts in his garage blast furnace. That's going to really bake our noodles, Dave.

Re: starting issues
L-Jet really hates vacuum leaks. The stout and reliable M30 goes from daily-driver mode to total basket case, and without ODB it's all trial-and-error. I'm really impressed by your diligence on the harness. I thought that could have been the problem, too. But as Lock once wrote, there are (usually) ...

Re: starting issues
Well, it depends on what else has happened with the throttle body screw and the mixture. As I was playing with mine trying to get it right, I was pulling levers all over the place and the engine behavior wasn't making any sense. It could be very lean from false air and disconnecting the temp sensor ...

Re: starting issues
You may have a big vacuum leak somewhere. Take off the intake hose between the air cleaner and the AFM and put an unlit propane torch in the AFM and see if it starts and runs better. If yes, go on the hunt with a can of starter fluid. I was having bedeviling problems recently and finally found a vac...
