Re: Brakes and calipers

Hey people, how are you? So i've been looking around here, and many other places, but couldnt find many info about the brakes, as I needed. The other topic I've opened helped a lot - thanks to everyone that took part there :D - but i still have some crucial doubts With that in mind, I would like to...

Re: Front Seat Cushion

Our own PatinaBeforePolish posted in the current E12 B.A.T. auction discussion that front seat bottom cushions are NLA from BMW. World Upholstery has them listed on their web site. Has anyone purchased a cushion from them? Thanks, Cory I contacted World Upholstery and they have no e12 seat cushions...

Drats! And right in the middle of the fall driving season. I have an 87k mile engine in my parts car if you’re interested. About 100 miles from you in southeast Pa.

Regular steel wool will rust in a day. Try stainless steel wool or brass wool.

Apparently Irish Spring soap shavings are quite effective in repelling the little buggers.

Re: Always check your oil banjo bolts!

Those are single use washers and the current hollow bolts from BMW have thread locker pre-applied. About 8 bucks per assembly, cheap insurance.

Re: CFM of radiator fan?

I used a Spal purchased from Summit. They have a nice selection and also carry a wiring kit with relay - made the install much easier. Included in the instructions are how to add a switch for manual operation. https://www.summitracing.com/search/product-line/spal-electric-fans?tw=electric%20fans&...

Re: Motronic 1.3 conversion

Looking good Lock. Curious, does it matter where on the fuel rail the FPR is installed? Yours is after the #1 injector as compared to at the end of the rail.

Re: CFM of radiator fan?

Hello everyone, My first tech question in over a decade: Does anyone know the CFM rating of the radiator fan? I'm asking because I'm thinking of deleting the pulley fan in favor of an electric version, in addition with an E28 radiator. Thanks! Mike I did this on my 78 F150 (hey it’s a straight six)...

Re: Motronic 1.3 conversion

Lock, Thanks for sharing this. It's time consuming enough just doing the work let alone stopping to take pics, then posting later. Question - in an earlier post you mentioned ordering an 88 528e wiring harness in order to keep the ecu inside behind the glove box. Did you find the part new? Looks lik...

Re: Throttle body heater hose delete

Lock, Yes, that metal pipe is NLA and I was also thinking of alternatives. Luckily mine was only slightly corroded on the ends so I had it zinc plated and so far so good, but it's good to know there's a close alternative - nice sleuthing! Are you referencing e34 part number 11531711002? I think the ...

Re: Euro bumper rubber trim to bumper "fasteners"?

Karl, I believe that’s the end screw which is molded to the rubber trim and is not designed for replacement. The rest of the attachment points are clips which do slide in the molding channel. The good news is that the complete trim piece is available but the bad news is, well, if you thought the scr...

Re: I screwed up...forgot I had drained the coolant!

And I agree with Mr. Hanson. Was there ethanol in the fuel? Ethanol attracts moisture and if it sat for a few years without using an additive like Sta-Bil it may take a few tanks to get it back to it's happy place.

Could the connections to the idle and WOT switches be crossed or the switches loose? I accidentally crossed mine which caused a similar situation.
