280#? I'd be re-checking my setup. It takes a lot of compression to get 280#.
Aside from that, I'd run it like it is. Do you have a lot of blow-by from your crankcase vent?

A quicker reving engine won't accelerate any faster but it will feel sportier. It will accelerate faster, acceleration = power/mass. Mass accelerated directly by the engine is more influential than mass accelerated after the gearbox, and also after the differential. We switched from a 18# steel fly...

A fuse should be a short with no voltage potential across it.

Here's a link to an e9coupe thread where I spell out the part numbers:

http://www.e9coupe.com/forum/showthread ... ight=delco

I don't recall specifically the minor adjustments to the bracket or the bolts I used, but it was pretty simple.

I put a CS130 alternator on my Bavaria - 105 amps and 14.5v all the time. The AC Delco and Bosch are very similar in size and mounting so it's a pretty easy swap, and cheap, too.

I put the aux pusher fan from an E34 on my Bav. I use a 90/99 thermo switch and a Volvo 2-speed fan relay. It works great.

Your dynamic compression will be higher with the shorter cam, possibly creating some timing issues.

An automatic transmission introduces another variable into the mix - the load of the converter when you are in gear and stopped. Does the 528 cam have the same specs as the 530 cam?

Thanks for letting me know I'm not nuts. I can't tell you how much that helps me. Slightly off topic here, and forgive my inexperience, but what exactly does pinging sound like on our engines? Is this a tough question? Does it sound like this? (on m20 engine): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBN1b3...

Mine's a 72, carbureted, and no smog required. Ported vacuum retards the timing at idle, raising the exhaust gas temperature and engine temperature. Because the peak cylinder pressure point is retarded as well, you need to have the throttle blade(s) open further to keep the engine running at your id...

Why would you not want manifold vacuum to operate your vacuum advance? The engine runs cooler and more efficiently with this setup.
