Re: HELP Sliding Roof

Refer to the online tech repair manual for guidance. Step 1, open the roof enough to get your fingers over the front of the interior white vinyl cover. Step 2 , Pull it down smartly, to get the pegs clear of the frame. Step 3. Once the pegs are out of the frame the interior panel will slide back to ...

Re: Trunk lid stuck closed.

The lock button, unlocked, key slot horizontal, works. The problem is in the trunk lid plate being misaligned forward or rearward to not allow it to clear the lock latch hook.

We know there is no access to the steel trunk box when closed by the faulty lock mechanism.

Re: Leather care

Just to be a poop, 37 years does more to the seats than make the leather stiff, if not loved from purchase, in the perfect garaged climate. The green waxed hair that makes the block shape of the seat succumbs to moisture and turns to brown shredded wheat. The foam that forms the tuck and roll under ...

Re: Fuel Injector and AFM connecters

I take a screen photo of your final post, solution after the litany of entries to get there. Keep it, print it for the files. Too bad it won't make it to the club Technical FAC list, simplified, check brake booster, etc., and experience knowing few questions inspire looking through previous posts. W...

Mysterious tune up.

Last year, or before, I was asking for remedies for a sensitive throttle, battery draw, slow start and erratic idle. Following the suggestions, checking all grounds, removing, cleaning suspect parts, I can't say resulted in any obvious changes. The thing kept enough of a charge, started soon enough,...

Re: Rear brake seized?

Off the top of 2¢, you do not have to drive it back 100 miles. There are trailers. Not being moved for a couple of years, or six months, should illuminate the bulb on a thorough inspection of all moving parts. Moisture, rust, mouse pajamas, ice cream in the oil,... one must take things apart, clean,...

Re: Door latch adjust

Yes, all four latches are covered with like new covers, the hinges, surround trim lubricated.

It appears there will be no quick and easy anti- rap, latch adjust instructions. We'll do it the old way : Pull the panels, clean the inner mechanicals, screw around learning until everything is right.

Or are we in for reading Bimmer Forum incompetent jibberish, acronyms, hinge, trim stupid stuff, or the repair manual's reference to ...

By the authority vested in me,... if they fit E28's and E24's the lug bolt pattern is the same as E12's. Do check the tire width and offset.

Re: AFM Interchange

You can consult realoem .com for the part numbers. When those seem not to match and a factory new afm is $520, the answers to your question can become numerous. Is your current unit not working, suspect, not adjusted properly ? Are you interested in doing such, read the Technical FAQ, or is your sol...
