Rear Oil Pan Bolts
Gents: I noticed an annoying leak from the oil pan gasket, annoying because it was replaced less than 3000 miles ago in 2019. Some of the bolts were torqued below spec. I can't get to one bolt at the rear which is recessed and the bell housing has an annoying little ridge so a socket cannot pass. Th...

I think they're readily available, but I bought one from Faulkner.

Re: Engine Overheating
Hi Jay - the aux fan is loud, and you should definitely hear it when the AC is on when still and at idle. There are two thermostats that come into play, which area discussed in other threads. https://www.firstfives.org/phpBB-3.2.1/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=29016 Robert's cooling system FAQ also covers ...

Re: Reinstalling the cat
Thanks Mike. I followed tlake's lead which took me to an outfit in the UK (Jetex) that sold the Swedish Redback Classic. At only 10" long (excluding the flanges) it shouldn't be too big of a problem to wedge in. Seems, using the eyeball test, to have good flow-through and is nice and wide. If y...

Re: brushable body color paint
This may be a bone-headed suggestion, but could you allow some of the volatile solvents in the spray-on formulation to evaporate before brushing on? Maybe do a test by allowing a sample of spray-on paint to achieve a good brush-on consistency before application.

Re: Suspension Upgrade
I installed ST 52015 on mine (28mm front/22mm rear), which I think is the set IE sells. I think you'll be very pleased if you're still running the stock sway bars.

Reinstalling the cat
Gents, my E12 is currently in TN, which requires emission testing on post 1974 cars. It's for all practical purposes an integrity check, which requires a cat on cars originally equipped with one. The PO of my E12 deleted the cat, which is characterized as "tampering" under TN regs. So, I'm...

Re: Suspension Upgrade
There was a thread in March started by EE-onetwo where I think he used the same combination you're thinking about here. Patinabeforepolish talked to Bilstein directly, who told him B6s were ok to use on lowering springs. I don't know if that application involved 40mm lowering.

Even they spell "Giubo" wrong.
Glycerin on the door seals every 8K. I think my E12 is about 170K overdue for that one.

Re: 1976 BMW 530i "Eleanor" rebuild project
Hey Keehn, I just realized you have M10 intake runners. Going back to your January 2020 photos, it looks like the previous owner swapped them in. That could be why your Jules Verne bracket didn't fit exactly?

Looks fantastic - also this is the first glimpse I've had of your Saab sun/moonroof retrofit on the inside. That looks legit as well.
