Re: Does the brake master self bleed at all ?

I've not gone on a neighborhood test drive. Is there a chance driving it, using the brakes will return the firm feel with self bleeding ? Maybe. Ideally, there shall be NO air bubbles, even tiny ones absorb the force produced by the master to drive the pistons hydraulically in the caliper. Go for y...

I use a stethoscope sometimes connected to a rod of some sort to pinpoint noises that seem to escape location detection. Be careful and poke around.

If it is indeed only the knob continuing to spin and not the whole shift lever :!: , try to separate the mounting piece from the knob by pulling up on it while it's screwed onto the shaft. Then just solidly glue the two parts back together.

Ditto ^ And there is a rubber gasket that follows along the part you're trying to remove. I forget how it interfaces or just lies underneath, but I seem to remember a little difficulty removing the black cover piece. While you're in there don't be surprised if you find gaping rust holes along the bo...

Remove the lower cowl panel, reach up and find the bulb and socket for the turn signal, it'll be visible. Wiggle the SOB and see if it starts flashing again.

As previously discussed the lackluster wiring loom that winds its way around the cluster is a likely culprit.

First thing that comes to mind is either the bolts holding the shifter support have come out or the support itself may have broken. That's all assuming the clutch feels ok and all. This exact same thing happened to me. Of course, after I purchased new various mounting parts for the shifter and befo...

2¢ in the trying to keep it stock/working dept. . . mine have always worked. There are two (miniature) bulbs total for the 'center' dash that (dimly) illuminate with that classic BMW orange glow the controls for the vent, A/C, and heater controls. The analog clock has its own bulb (and must b...

+1

I installed the low beam flat lens version from these people at Mike's suggestion several years ago and am happy to report they are FANtastic! It's the equivalent of the candle power of your current low/high beam combo. just on low beam without annoying oncoming traffic.

Highly recommended.

Sunroof gasket tool

You can easily make one of these to 'lift' the gasket into place without removing the sliding roof. It's just tableware.

Re: Wiring for Turn Signals

Is there any possible way someone could post a picture or describe how the wiring should be plugged into the back of the instrument cluster (specifically the turn signals)? Thank you all Surely. The pic does not show the actual dash cluster that both of the items shown snap into. But note the elect...
