So if you have no AC, the most forward pulley on the crank remains empty.

That sensor is a resistor that changes it's value with temperature. You can check it, there are reference values at 20 deg Celsius or so in the manuals.
If it runs better while unplugged, there must be something wrong with the air / fuel ratio.

That could explain why many early cars have the later straight bumper.

The 2002 has something similar. On those (as far as I recall), it is a known issue that the fan can run in to the radiator, if the 'stops' are not properly adjusted or missing.

It is covered by the front bumper mostly, at least on the Europe models. The bumper is also a bit different on the early models, following the form of the valance somewhat. A couple of weeks I was sitting next to a post 77 car with the old style valance and I did not even notice until I took a close...

Mine was hit in about the same way when I got it, moving backwards maybe 1cm. The car did go straight still, I swapped it out only when we remade the whole car. It also had a huge dent in the front valance, but fortunately no sings of other damage on the body.

My battery died on me yesterday. Nothing out of the ordinary, it has 2006 stamped on it. The weird thing is that, with the new battery, the flash relay bulb in the dash now works as it should.

What year? After this weekend I should be able to look it up, I believe I have a book somewhere.

My '76 carb 528 needs 1700rpm for the 22 degree sign.

Be aware of very clean white plugs, those would indicate head gasket failure (steam washed). Leave the engine with penetrating oil in the cylinders, or even diesel. Just let it sit a while. If the engine is indeed blocked, forcing it in a hurry may result in broken piston rings. After a couple of da...
