I've never seen a head with that shape before either. Very odd.

If there was a choice I wouldn't buy an early head like that.

When I did this I had the calipers completly off the car. I guess it never occurred to me that I needed to pull the pistons out haha. Anyways, I tried the compressed air and my small compressor with 125psi wouldn't pop them out so I grabbed them with a pair of vide grips and a rag to keep from damag...

65 amp bosch premium alternator for the 528i is available from FCPEuro for $121. Damn good price if you ask me:

Ok so I moved the pulley around and I managed to get it looking like this:

Still looks as though the alt has to move in a bit more...

Alternator pulley

Is the alternator pulley supposed to be on the same plane as the power steering? Trying to piece the pulley back together and I'm not sure what order the parts go in. If someone has some pics that would help. http://i1241.photobucket.com/albums/gg519/JodyStevens/E8A42B15-F91F-48E0-9033-1169DD5D9638_...

What about the steering box? Is it possibly bad?

Edit: I see you tried that.

Link to puller kit your talking about?

I wouldn't cut the bushings in half, the poly ones come that way because they are much stiffer and it's the only way to get them in.

I drove the bearings out tonight, it was so easy, I don't understand all the hesitation. I had them off the car and it took maybe 5 minutes to knock the bearings out and they didn't even get damaged. Some pictures for future bearing changers. The order: http://i1241.photobucket.com/albums/gg519/Jody...

Ok, I looked at the link above and I see that each bearing has to go out its respective end. Makes sense since one bearing is bigger/wider than the other.

Okay so tonight I popped the seals out of either side. That exposes each bearing. So I tried driving them out the same side, do they come out each end or can they be driven out the same end. http://i1241.photobucket.com/albums/gg519/JodyStevens/2A7AB199-BFEC-41A8-BD24-49BB5DD3D679_zpswgb2qdgo.jpg ht...
