Thanks. I dunno, I didn't think it was weird to ask. I didn't think much of it on my car (old anything + plastic = cracks) but then I noticed that nearly all of the tail lamps on eBay had the exact same cracks. I just thought I'd ask here before I started hunting lest there be a known fix or seller ...

e12 Tail Lights

My rear lamps don't fit snug as all 4 little plastic clips are busted, so the only thing keeping the lamp on is the one large bolt with the big interior disk near the center of the lamp. I gather this is a common issue, but most of the used lamps for sale have the same issue and new lenses or chrome...

Sorry, just to follow up - if I read the FAQ correctly, I should fiddle with that 7mm adjustment nut on the aux.air valve, and if the idle (when cold) responses then the value is working, but if nothing happens, the valve may be out of action?

Thanks very much. I've been living in carburetor land for a while now, so just checking in where to start. Something like the aux air valve is what I was looking for, and I found the FAQ on it. I'll play with that then move on. I'm not driving the car now, so I plan of slowly sorting it as time allo...

81 528i - rough idle question

Hi, 81 528i - 5speed - N.American car. Idle is rough - nearly wants to stall at times, searching up and down (revs up and down to near stall, then up again). Give it gas and it instantly smooths out. Drives fine, and idle improves (though not where it should be) when it warms up. Any tips/thoughts/i...
