I'm finishing up a M30B35 swap into a '79 528i---for which I hope to provide a detailed write-up soon---and I'm trying to close out a few lingering items.
The one that has me most flummoxed right now is the bracket that's on the clutch line midway between the clutch master cylinder and the clutch slave cylinder (right where the hose becomes a metal line). I believe this bracket is supposed to bolt onto the rear of the engine, into a hole where it would be opposing one of the bellhousing bolts. I just can't line up the bracket with the hole though.
It seems like the metal clutch line is interfering with this; it's hitting the edge of the block and limiting the movement of the bracket. Does anyone know if this bracket is actually compatible with the B35 block? Is there a contour on the back of the B35 block that prevents this bracket from bolting on to it?
