End Caps for Wiper Arms

Post by cory58 »

I'm replacing the rubber damper rings on my 530i wiper arm shafts, which means I need to remove the wiper arms. I notice that one of the end caps (covering the shaft) is cracked, and I'll probably crack the other one taking it off.

I would like to replace them, but the RealOEM diagram does not show the end cap as a separate part. It's pictured, but the reference number on the diagram is greyed out. Does anyone know if this part is available or whether there is a part from another model that will work?

Thanks, Cory

End Caps for Wiper Arms

Post by Joe Boston »

I wasn't able to find the end cap. As the cap has a pin that runs through it.
I ended up purchasing new wiper arms for both sides(L&R).
I found the right side at Schmiedmann.com for 36.00 as the part # changed to 61 61 1 370 020. I had purchased the left side at ECS tuning part #61611370025 for 35.24..

hope this helps

Huge help. Thank you Joe. Good to know part #s for replacement arms that are available.

Now what to do with the NOS old-style blades (pin connection to the arms) that took me 6 months to find...... I've driven the car maybe 5 times since installing them. Gotta love old cars.
