Windscreen washer tubing

Post by T.Hanson »

A source for the washer clear tubing with the white nylon stretch thread ? The factory parts drawing is not obvious with a number, the stuff seems possibly generic. Replacement step 1. ask club members for the easy solution.

I replaced all of mine about 4 years ago with translucent silicone tubing. It should remain flexible longer and not yellow. The braided stuff is a higher-pressure version of regular vinyl tubing, as I recall. This isn't a high pressure application, so lots of choices. Even the silicone stuff can be bought at many local HW stores.

I replaced mine last year and had trouble finding hose with the same OD. All the OEM replacement hose I could find with the correct ID had a larger OD, so I just used that and it works fine. The BMW part number is 61661357388.

When considering thinner aftermarket hose, remember that the hose makes a sharp turn at the front where is goes into the hood. Thinner hose will be much more likely to kink.

Hey, thank you race fans. It is so much faster and easier typing the question and reading the answers than clicking and searching.

Although with the engine all apart I don't know why I need the wiper squirters working.
