Alternator mounting options

My 1980 E12 and my 1977 had different alternator mounts.

While both alternators look the same, the 1977 was mounted with bushings and the 1980 just ran the mounting bolt through the casting.

Is there any reason that I should not just use the 1980 bushingless version?
