Well I took a look at my E12 in the garage for the winter and it looks like I will be needing a new rear muffler. Looking on the web there does not seem to be many options. It looks like the options are stock BMW or stainless (and stainless is way too expensive). I changed the center resonator a while ago and it looks pristine so I am just looking for the rear muffler. In the past (many years ago) Bosal, Ansa, and Boysen options were available but I could not find any. I would prefer not to have one welded up but maybe I will have to and would likely go with the stock BMW one in that case.
Any ideas where to find a reasonable cost rear E12 muffler?

I didn't even notice it was 530i. They are slightly different, but usable. IIRC the pipes go into the muffler higher or lower than 528i's. I think it was lower. I used one long ago and it worked fine but wasn't any quieter than the 300K one it replaced, which I think just had it's fiberglass saturated by particles of combustion. Not worse either, just a 100K used one was no better than a 300K used one. 530 might have had a different front hanger mount, but I think the only difference was inlet location.
Digging further it appears a 530i one from whatever Tischer (online dealer parts) is calling themselves these days is $220, while a 528i one is ~300.
