Searching for a Good Paint Shop Houston, Texas

Post by tonypatthou »

Can anyone refer me to a paint/body shop I can trust in the Houston, TX area. I purchased a completely "rust free" E12 in July, and I'm ready to have it painted.
The base coat, and clear coats needs to be redone. I've been reading the body shop reviews on Yelp, but the bids are all over the place. Any recommendations are highly appreciated.
Help.

If you find one, make sure to check which type of paint they use. The non-waterbased type (old style) of paint is better quality than a modern waterbased kind. Waterbased paint is used on most modern cars due to the smaller impact on the environment.

Therefore, here in Holland I think only some paint shops are still allowed to use this kind of paint nowadays (and in my restoration workshop only because the car is from 1980). But this might be a different case in Texas.

Also if I was to paint my car I would ask if they put on some extra clear coats.

Not an answer to your question, but hope this helps nevertheless :-).

Thank you Thomas! Those are two great suggestions. I was unaware, and non of the shops discussed it with me.

I will definitely insist on some extra clear coats, and the "non water based" paint.
