school me on 3:45 lsd

Post by profsr »

Picked up a 3:45 side loader diff the other day and it has a huge S stamped on it with the gear ratio just underneath it. Did some research and found that the markings indicate that it is an lsd. However when I turn one of the flanges the other one does not move. Questions :

- is this an lsd diff?
- if yes then why is the other flange not moving (in the same direction) ?
- if thus is an issue can this be fixed?
- who can fix this? Preferably in Washington or BC

Thanks.

Block the driveshaft flange and try again. I bet you are lucky.

Did that and flanges turned in the opposite direction. Going to open it up and see what's inside. Has anyone opened one of these up?
