Help Identifying a FOHA spoiler

Post by Charlesm3 »

Hi all,
I recently picked up a Foha rear trunk spoiler that I am trying to identify. The ID number is KBA35356.
Anyone have a clue which model it is for? E24, E12, E28?
Thanks in advance,
Charles

Hello CHarles,
The KBA number isn't a part number. The KBA is like the DOT in the US.
Is there a number like 1216 (for E12 part) or 1227 (E28) on it? That would be the part number. If not, how about some photos or measurements?
I just noticed that you have an '81 listed in your signature, does the spoiler not fit the trunk contour? I guess what I'm really asking is: why are you asking this when you have the car and the spoiler?

Thanks for the good info. The numbers are heavily warn and those I supplied were the only that I could read. I'll look again tomorrow for another 4 digit number. To answer your question I bought it but it does not seem to match the trunk contour or seem wide enough when I cross reference with images on the web.

Just trying to be sure before I drill my trunk for the studs. I'll update soon.
Thanks.

I just got back to my shop and found a very faded part number of 1227 on the spoiler. This disqualifies it as as e12 fitment. Another member sent me this link:

He told me l me I had an e24 spoiler but that doesnt square with what kwyjibo is saying here.....

Can someone clarify if the 1227 is for an e28 or e24? I want to get it right if I have to resell since it wont fit my e12.

Hi Charles,
The last post on this thread has a scan of a FOHA brochure. 1227 is listed as 82+ 5-series.

Glad to hear. Are you still going to use it? I'm curious to see how "off" it is because I'm looking for a spoiler, too. I keep finding ones made for E28s so I'm wondering how well (or not) they fit. I'm also thinking of one of the fiberglass M535i replicas mentioned in another thread.

I just decided to sell it this week. I'm going to post the info here and on my e28.com before I throw it on eBay. I honestly don't think it's the best fit for an e12. It's designed for an e28. Let me know (PM me) if you are interested.
