Distributor "Dwell" Spec.

After i gap the points I want to set the dwell angle. Anybody know the correct spec?
1976 530i. BMW 59 Triumph TR3A(rolling resto). 67 Triumph TR4A(salvageable). 86 900S Winter car

38 +/- 3 degrees
contact opening is 0.35 mm or 0.014"

Thanks for the info. Where do you buy your tune up parts? Is Maximillian still in business?

Honestly, there are a ton of options and I usually obsessively search for the cheapest. Rock Auto is reliably inexpensive, and ECS Tuning and Pelican (same company I think) are good. If Summit has the parts, they're fast. If parts are available on Amazon, I'll use them a lot because I have Prime and returns are easy if necessary.

I just ordered a bunch of stuff from ultimategarage.com, the guy there was dealing in BMW for years but stopped but has stuff on deep discount. There is a set of 530i ignition points for $7! https://www.ultimategarage.com
Just search on the page for "BMW" and there's a link to a spreadsheet. I picked up a NOS ash tray with killer chrome, among other things. It was a painless and swift transaction.
