Battery Drain - Fuse 5

Post by DrNORAD »

Hello everyone,

I have a 1981 E12 with 88K on the clock. Checked amp draw the other day and noticed I had .04 amp draw. I understood that .03 was ok. Looking for opinions. Pulled fuse 5 and the draw went away. Disconnected the door lock module with no change to the draw. Disconnected the key buzzer with no change. The glove box portable light was disconnected by the previous owner and the clock does not work (digital). I have an analog one that I plan on installing. If the opinion is that .04 is ok, then I will just continue with a battery charger. If not then I will continue to trouble shoot. Thanks for your time.

The hazard switch is on fuse 5 and can manifest some strange behaviors before failing. Maybe run a full dx on it and check for anomalies.
