I’m currently in the middle of putting together an m106 to throw in my ’77 because I found a STEAL on it.
Out of recommendations from others, I’m ditching motronic and going to an ms3x standalone in order to be more effecient and allow myself to use modern parts, a necessity given I daily drive this car. (Adding LS coils and an e28goodies plate along with a cam sensor to allow for sequential spark and fuel with no distributor maintenance)
One problem : I don’t know how long the wiring harness is inside the bulkhead. I would like to mount the ECU in the original place and I don’t particularly want a ton of wiring hanging out in the glove compartment. This being said, can anyone provide a measurement of how long their harness is from the bulkhead grommet in the engine bay going into the cabin? Dosent need to be in mm exactly, just looking for 15cm or 30, etc.
I guess after all, I’m recreating an alpina b7s with the turbo setup, but my car will have m535 body, so a mish mash. While the engine is pulled in a month, I’m fully refreshing my crusty towers and painting the bay
