Received my PLX gauge and senders (plxdevices.com) in the mail the other day and preliminary test-fitting looks good. I also purchased an adapter block from parkerperformance to mount the oil pressure and temp senders. I needed a certain thread size for the PlX senders so unfortunately I could not eliminate the stock oil pressure sender for the idiot light.
The 52mm gauge itself fits beautifully into the location for the stock clock.
The various senders and electronics boxes that will find a home in the engine bay and behind the dash, respectively.
The adapter block with oil temp, pressure, and stock idiot light senders test fit. I hope I can get this contraption to fit o.k. on the back of the head by the firewall.
New gauge project, I think it should work

Nice, that's where I'll put my guage.
I had no idea they would fit.

No, that's the VDO unit that places like BMP Design sell. I've used it before on my last E12 gauge project and it worked well. The issue was I needed to use the sender that PLX specified for their pressure gauge and it only used a certain fitting (1/8 27 NPT) so I got he adapter block that parkerperformance had, which only came in a 3 hole config to keep the stock pressure sender for the idiot light. So I end up with more senders than I really need since I won't use my VDO two post sender for both the idiot light and the PLX gauge. Make sense? That was hard to explain.alotawatts wrote:Cool stuff ! You may have to hire a Plumber !
So this type of two post sending unit (one to idiot light and one to VDO gauge) is stock on your M car ?
