Anyone put Koni shocks on a 76 530i?

The shocks are Koni Classics...mounting on the front....there is a circular 2 1/2" wide white plastic washer type disc with six grooves in it.... does this disc go under the flat washer and gasket ring as shown on the Maximillian blow up photo?
