Cold Start Relay

I have a 1981 528I. Can someone tell me where the cold start relay is located? Thanks in advance!

There isn't a dedicated one, it works off the combo relay, one of several functions in it.

The Haynes Manual states on page 74, paragraph 19-12 (which covers testing, removal, and refitting);

Cold Start Relay
12 Carefully pull out the cold start relay and disconnect the wiring plugs.

This is in the L-Jetronic system section.

reservoir

It's the big double, combo, set up that is mounted by itself, separate from the fuse block?

Do you need the Haynes test procedure?

Here's the Haynes Manual test:

Cold Start Relay
12 - Carefully pull out the cold start relay and disconnect the wiring plugs.
13 - Connect a live feed to the (central) terminal 30 and terminal 86C.
14 - Connect terminal 85 to earth.
15 - Using a test lamp, with one lead connected to a good earthing
point, test if there is power at terminals 87 or 86. Failure of the test
lamp bulb to illuminate will indicate a faulty cold start relay.
