Currently available rear shock mounts?

Post by MikeB7 »

So realoem list the following two part numbers for the rear upper shock mounts:
33 52 1 118 459 - on indefinite backorder.
33 52 1 117 657 - we're being told this has been superceded by the part number:

33 52 1 126 987 - when I look this up, it shows as being for E23's and E28/E24 M-cars.

What to order, what to order?

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

I'll try to check the garage this weekend. I got new shock mounts for my 528i in 2007, but only ended up replacing the fronts. I'm not exactly sure where the rears are, but they must be out in the garage somewhere. If I can find them, I can confirm the part numbers for you.

Right, and that gives me the first part number I gave that i'm being told is not readily available.

So I take it no one has dealt with difficulties getting the rear mounts recently?

Do the E28 parts actually fit here? That's what it seems I'm being told, but that would be the first E12-E28 parts crossover I've seen.

Mike, try Bavauto.com or Arizonaautohaus.com.

33 52 1 117 657

That's what I have. A pair of them in the packaging from BMW from when I did the suspension (Feb 2008).

You're saying you can't get this part now?

As, mentioned, the -657 part is superceded by the e28-m6 part, according to bavauto.

The other correct part number is whzt I first had bavauto order and it's on indefinite backorder- no idea when/ if they'll get any.

No one knows if e28 parts will work here? That seems to be what bavauto's listings and supercedings are suggesting.
